According to the Hoover website, the FloorMate works best with the line of specialty cleaners they sell to be used with it. Its line of products does contain a natural floor cleaner as well as a traditional hard floor cleaner.

No, it does not clean rugs it strictly for bare wood floors.

It’s the Hoover Floormate and this grout cleaner! Another reviewer mentioned spraying the grout with this cleaner and letting it sit for 5 minutes – something that I will definitely try the next time I clean the floors.

Answer: Yes I have used simple green all purpose cleaning I bought from lowes in the machine. It is non toxic and worked great in the machine.

The Hoover Floormate Deluxe beats the Bissell Crosswave on price. The Hoover vacuum has better suction which is useful if you’re otherwise going to need to make multiple passes to clean up a mess. The Hoover model also does a better job of getting into tight spaces, corners and along baseboards.
